Say goodbye to floaters, MEC is a specialized centre for floaters management.

Understanding Floaters

Floaters can be caused by a number of things, but typically develop due to aging and degeneration of the vitreous. Vitreous humor is the clear, jelly-like substance in the main chamber of the eye, located between the lens and the retina. With floaters, debris or opacities in the normally clear vitreous gel of the eye cast a shadow on the retina, the light sensing layer of the eye.

How we can help

At MEC, we offer two solutions to treat floaters. The first is a revolutionary in-office laser procedure, called vitreolysis, which yields excellent results with zero downtime. Because it is pain-free and non-invasive, vitreolysis is the preferred method of treatment for most patients. However for some patients surgical vitrectomy is the more suitable option. Recent advancements in microsurgical techniques make this a safe and effective treatment.
